Mazda Reveals New Updates for the 2020 MX-5 Miata

An icon in the world of convertibles, the MX-5 Miata is revered for its agile handling and invigorating driving dynamics. As the best-selling two-seater sports car on the planet, the lightweight, mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive soft-top proves that you don't need immense horsepower to deliver an engaging experience. However, as models evolve and more features are added, keeping the weight down becomes a challenge. Fortunately, Mazda recently announced that "the 2020 MX-5 Miata offers more amenities while maintaining the necessary characteristics of a driver’s car: lightweight, nimble and most importantly, fun-to-drive."

The 2020 MX-5 Miata is motivated by a standard Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter engine (181 horsepower, 151 pound-feet of torque) paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. MX-5 Club (with manual transmission) and Grand Touring models feature a sport-tuned suspension with Bilstein dampers and a limited-slip differential.

New for 2020, the MX-5 Miata equips Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Smart City Brake Support, and Lane Departure Warning System as standard equipment. Additionally, the MX-5 Club trim now includes standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and a Bose® nine-speaker premium sound system with passenger headrest speakers.
