See How the Mazda6 Compares to the Kia Optima

When shopping for the perfect sedan, it's important to weigh your options and make sure you're purchasing the one that will serve you well for many years to come. That's why here at Gullo Mazda, we're comparing the new Mazda6 to one of its biggest competitors-the Kia Optima. Both are sedans that boast speed, comfort, technology and fuel efficiency. Let's explore why the Mazda6 is your better option.

Power and Performance

The Mazda6 features their available Dynamic Pressure Turbocharged Skyactiv®-G 2.5T engine which will provide you with 250-horsepower that will respond to your commands at low RPMs. This specialized engine is customized to Mazda vehicles and features unique technology to make the ride as powerful as possible while keeping fuel consumption responsible. The Kia Optima, on the other hand, only offers up 185-horsepower from its 2.4-liter, I4 engine. The difference in power is impressive from the Mazda6.

In terms of fuel efficiency, all five of the Mazda6 trim levels offered surpass the Kia Optima SX (highest trim level for this model) in fuel efficiency. You'll get an average of 31-miles-per-gallon in these three Madza6 trims, and only 30-miles-per-hour with the Kia Optima SX.

Technology Capabilities

For interior technology, the Mazda6 offers drivers a host of standard features that are sure to impress. Power automatic door locks and one-touch up and down windows throughout the entire cabin make for easy comfort. The Kia Optima offers automatic one-touch windows, but only on the driver's side. The small details like this will make all the difference to your passengers.

The Mazda6 offers the MAZDA CONNECT™ Infotainment System which allows you to enjoy a long list of internet radio integration possibilities, as well as smart device connectivity to promise the most up-to-date multimedia system. While the Kia Optima does offer smartphone connectivity, the other multimedia features are limited to traditional car radio functionalities.

The safety technologies in the Mazda6 are also exceedingly impressive. Enjoy Standard High Beam Control which will allow you to use your brights as much as possible by automatically switching them on and off by sensing oncoming traffic. The Kia Optima does not offer this capability as a standard feature.

Design that Counts

Every single trim level of the Mazda6 strives to provide the driver and their passengers with only the best in design to the optimize the driving experience. The Mazda6 Signature was made by Mazda designers and features Ultrasuede® trim across the dashboard and doors to give a luxurious atmosphere to the entire vehicle. The Kia Optima does not currently offer a trim level with this type of luxury-look or use of premium materials like Nappa leather and Japanese Sen wood.

Exploring Your Options

It's valuable to note that you get more options by choosing the Mazda6 as your new sedan. With five distinct trim levels available, you have a variety of driving styles, package options and the interior functions to customize to your particular lifestyle. The Kia Optima only offers four trim levels, two of which give you limited package options.
